Our speaker has have divided his 45 years of experience almost equally between traditional film-based and digital imaging photography. This gives him a unique perspective on the evolution of photographic technology grounded in the tradition of old school craft.

He will present a sampling of his Photo-Tech Tuesday Tips, distilled from his weekly newsletter. Topics covered will focus on post processing for photography including-

•Proper file prep for printing
•Old-school techniques for removing lint, like cat fur from dark clothing on your images
•Luminosity blending for sophisticated image enhancement effects
• Simulating aerial perspective for landscape and architecture images

The focus of his presentation will be on simple but powerful techniques that leverage old-school image manipulation in Photoshop.

I am a photo-illustrator now working in the Boston area. I have been involved in commercial photography for over 45 years, and started working with computer imaging over 25 years ago. I currently work with photography in conjunction with computer graphics to create images for use in print advertising

.My work has been featured on movie posters, video box covers, CD covers, numerous brochures and catalogs. I was responsible for the moth on the ‘Silence of the Lambs’ movie poster, as well as photos of the Starship Enterprise for the Star Trek movies! The author of 4 books, my best-known book is the best seller- ‘Skin- The Complete Guide to Digitally Lighting, Photographing, and Retouching Faces and Bodies’ This book has become a must-have reference for every portrait and fashion photographer.
