Our speaker, Billie Weiss will discuss and illustrate the day to day responsibilities of his role as the official team photographer for the Boston Red Sox. He will also offer tips and tricks for capturing moving subjects, and discuss the mentality and mindset involved with making a great sports photograph. You will see examples of bold, vibrant, iconic imagery from both Fenway Park and other sports venues and events throughout the world. We will leave plenty of time for a question and answer session in hopes of having a great discussion and dialogue surrounding ways to improve your technical skills with motion and sports photography.
Billie Weiss is an award winning Boston based commercial and editorial photographer and videographer. He is the Senior Manager of Photography for the Boston Red Sox, and since 2012 has documented many notable moments in Red Sox history, including the 100th Anniversary of Fenway Park, the retirement of David Ortiz and two World Series Championships in 2013 and 2018. He is also a commercial freelance photographer and has produced advertising campaigns and visual content series for some of the worldâ€™s leading brands, businesses and media outlets.
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Billie holds an M.S. in Journalism from Boston University and a B.A. in Communications and Spanish from Goucher College.
