Recap of 2023-2024 competition: One of the most fun evenings was held on April 1 - our One Shot competition. The Women were so hoping to continue their good luck streak after winning last year for the first time in three years. Our judges - Sarah Musumeci and Don Toothaker - had a very lively exchange of comments about each and every one of the images. It was hilarious and got everyone in the mood for a rowdy evening. Which it was!!!!
A contest of 29 images between the Men and Women of the club.
The Men had a very strong start by winning the first 3 categories.
But the Women caught up.
And the Men came back getting the next 4 rounds.
The back-and-forth ensued - The Women got 1.
The Men got 2.
The Women got 3 more, including the most hilarious commentary about the Child Under 8 and the poor little kid who was down wind of the other!!
The Men 2 more.
The Women the next 4.
Then the Men with the next 3 and the Women with the 26th, 27th, and 28th categories.
It was a respectable showing by both sides with it coming to a tie on the 28th image!!
But alas and alack, the last image went to the Men.
It was a very close evening. But the final score was Men - 15 and Women - 14. Congrats to the Men! A good showing by everyone. Great fun was had by all. It was nice to see a full hall and lots of red worn by the women and sports paraphenalia worn by the men.
A special thanks to our judges: Sarah Musumeci, MNEC from Merrimack Valley Camera Club, and Don Toothaker Director of Hunt's Photo Adventures. Their bantering was comical! Thanks so much Sarah and Don!

who was too exhausted to write after all her visits to the fortune teller, tarro cards, eight ball, leprechauns, and looking for four leaf clovers. She also had to break the bad news to female cat Jaggy who was devasted and has woken up from her nap yet after hearing the women lost.
Here are the categories, images submitted and maker names. Winning images are listed on the left side - 15 by the MEN and not until the very last image - 14 by the WOMEN!!!! We couldn't have asked for a better outcome, except for the win.
