"Food Bank-First Night of Collection-Club open for food bank drop offs only-Rick Cloran will be there to collect untill 8:30 PM-NO MEETING"
by Rick Cloran
Monday, March 16, 7PM - 8:30 PM
On March 16th and 23rd we will again have our Food Drive for those in need. The club will be closed with no meeting on March 16th but Rick Cloran will be there from 7-8:30PM to collect your food donations only. Club members have been exceptional generous in the past, and we hope you can continue this tradition. Sadly, the need for food continues for those less fortunate than ourselves. As with recent years, Saint Stephen Church in Lynn maintains the Food Pantry.Whatever you choose to give, that you choose to donate is the important factor. The needs of single homeless people as well as families are served the St. Stephen’s Food Pantry.
So that you can take advantage of store food sales before these dates, here is a list of the most wanted items-
Packages of individual fruit cups, as well as cans
Packages of single-serving hot cereals
Packages of individual juice drinks
Hearty soups-not tomato
Individual servings of stews and chilis-max of 20 oz. is OK with this product
Small jars of jams and jellies
Individual servings-or a little larger of chicken or tuna
They also need Heavyweight paper grocery bags-ideally with handles
Some constraints we need to meet are Donations must be ‘packaged, jarred, or canned' and the expiration date has not expired.Canned goods should not be over 16oz , because the bags become too heavy for recipients to carry.
We will be boxing and delivering your donations on Tuesday morning March 24th.
Thanks for your support of this needed service to others.
