CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

All phases of the exhibition will be conducted in accordance with the recommended practices of the Photographic Society of America, the Federation Internationale de l’Art Photographique 2012/040, the Canadian Association for Photographic Art, and Interessengemeinschaft Internationaler Wettbewerbs-Fotografen (IIWF) 2012/16.

There is no restriction on subject matter. You may enter 4 digital images per entrant.  Our acceptance rate is normally 30-35%.  GLPA takes great pride in reproducing  a high quality color catalog approximately 60 pages long with over 32 color reproductions, in printed form, to be air mailed to all entrants.

A PSA Gold Medal will be awarded by the judges for the “Best of Show” and a PSA Silver Medal will be awarded for the “Best Creative” digital image, plus two PSA Bronze Medals, and three Honor awards.  Creative photography may be defined as “altered reality.”

Entries must originate as photographs (image/captures of objects via light sensitivity) made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally.  By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his own and permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition.  This may include low resolution posting on a website. The exhibition assumes no liability for any misuse of copyright.  Images may be acquired digitally, or scanned from film by the entrant or a third partyto create a digital file. Adjustments and cleaning may be performed to make the digital file match the original film image. Images may be altered, either digitally or otherwise, by the maker and artwork or computer graphics created by the entrant may be incorporated if the photographic content predominates. All final work must be a digital file.

Once an image has been accepted in Greater Lynn, that same image, or a like “in camera” or a reproduction duplicate of that image may not be re-entered in Greater Lynn regardless of format, media or title. Nor may it be re-titled for resubmission in Greater Lynn or another PSA recognized exhibition.

The exhibition is open to anyone; however, an entry may be rejected when the sponsoring organization or its agent, in its reasonable discretion, believes the entry does not conform to exhibition rules and conditions.

This is a CPID exhibition. Acceptances for PSA star ratings are eligible in the CPID.

An entrant’s four images will be distributed throughout four rounds of judging.

DIGITAL ENTRANTS:  Go the club website www.greaterlynnphoto.org and click International.  From this page, you will find the correct link to fill out the online individual entry form (and upload your images, and payment options (via PayPal, check or cash)). In addition, we will also accept entries via postal mail on CD. Go the club website www.greaterlynnphoto.org and click International for the correct link to the Downloadable PDF Entry Form and Address Labels.

CLUB ENTRANTS (7 or more entries):

Digital Club entries may be submitted online or via postal on CD. If submitting by CD, go the club website www.greaterlynnphoto.org and click International for the correct link to the Downloadable PDF Entry Form and Address Labels. Individual CDs are not necessary, all digital entries for the club may be submitted on the same CD.  CDs will NOT be returned.

For digital club online entries, go to the club website, click International for the correct link to Club Entry - USA or Foreign.

For USA club entrants, choose your club from the pulldown menu, and your club coordinator name and email address will automatically be displayed. Please make payment of entry fees ($6) to your club coordinator who will then send them to Greater Lynn in one payment.

For foreign club entrants, choose your club from the pulldown menu. You may pay your inidividual entry fees via PayPal ($8) or you may give your entry fees to your club coordinator who will then pay the club's total entry fees to Greater Lynn in one payment via PayPal or cash.

For CD entries (CDs will not be returned), follow these instructions on preparing and naming images. The projector is set for 1024 x 768 pixels. Your image dimensions should be within these numbers but does not necessarily need to match this ratio. Normally, you will set the width at 1024 for horizontal images, and set the height at 768 for vertical images. By using the "Constrain Proportions" option, you only need to set one dimension, and your image editing software will make the appropriate setting for the other dimension, and it may not be the number indicated here. For example, you may set your width to 1024, and using "Constrain Proportions," the height dimension may be set at 681. This will project correctly. Resolution should be set at 200 for purposes of reproduction in our color catalog. Your files should be saved as a JPEG file. Do not use further compression. Naming your images: Please use your name in the file names, as well as the projection sequence number (surname_firstname_seq#). For example, your four submissions on a CD may look like this:

Mosser_Susan_1.jpg
Mosser_Susan_2.jpg
Mosser_Susan_3.jpg
Mosser_Susan_4.jpg
The corresponding number on the entry form should contain the title of the image—not the file name (your name).
