Cathay Still Life

Photo Ops Day

Saturday, February 11, 10 A.M.–3 P.M.

Got the winter blahs? Cure them by spending the Saturday, February 11, at GLPA taking advantage of the photo opportunities (AKA Photo Ops) available to you. There will be still-life setups—regular and black light, Shiv Verma’s polarized light setup, and glassware. For models, there will be two long-haired chihuahuas who love to pose. There will also be a couple of children at various times during the day. Some of the setups will work best with a macro lens. But don’t let your lack of a macro keep you from coming. You may also want to bring a tripod for the nonmodel setups. Models will be lit with strobe triggered by Pocket Wizards. If you own a Sony camera, you’ll need the special Sony hot shoe adapter.

The cost for the day is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Please see Chris Germain or Barbara Rozavsky at club or e-mail barb.photo@comcast.net to register to give us a sense of how many people may attend. You can also register at the door.

Here are some images from previous years to give you a sense of the types of images you can get.
