Model Portrait Shoot

On four Sundays during the year, Greater Lynn sets up model portrait shoots with three lighting setups. They are available for club members and non-members.

Join us for a very enjoyable laid back photo shoot.

For those just starting out or that might like some pointers, there will be mentors available to help you improve your people pictures skills.
There will be several models to photograph in portrait and in full length scenarios. Bring a lens in the range of 35 to 70MM for full length and ~85 to 150 MM for portraits. When we break for lunch there is a good pizza and sub shop in walking distance.

Please note: The photographers who participate in the Greater Lynn Model Shoots will be honor bound to e-mail some images to modelshoots@greaterlynnphoto.org. The Model Committee always posts the model’s name on the main light stand for each shoot with the expectation that the photographers will use the proper spelling of the model’s name when titling images and prints. It is imperative that you size the images to 768 pixels in height by 1024 pixels in width. Use a resolution of 240 and a JPEG format. Furthermore, it is necessary that you cluster the images of each model into a group and send the images with the proper name attached. You may find it necessary to send more than one e-mail for each model if you send more than four images of a particular model. Photographs of the participating models are posted on the camera club’s Web site under the Model Shoot Activities in order to aid in indentifying individual models.

The New England Camera Club Conference at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, during the weekend of July 13 – 15, 2012, will host a multitude of events. Model photography will be a prime event all day Saturday and until 12:00 P.M. on Sunday.

Thanks,

Jim Gallagher and the entire Model and Portrait committee

Overview of March Model/Portrait Day

Our third Model Shoot of the camera club year has been completed. This means that Greater Lynn members have but one Model Shoot opportunity at the club left. Here is an open invitation for all of you to come to the club on April 22 and wake your sleepy photography skills from their winter reverie.
Here are the procedures to follow to submit your images.

  • Please take a few moments to clean up and adjust the images. Please do not send every image that you took during the model shoot.
  • Size each image to resolution 240, maximum 768 pixels for vertical, and maximum 1024 pixels for horizontal.

  • You are encouraged to place your copyright signature at the bottom of the image. See the examples below.

  • Group each individual model’s images into one unit.

  • Title the e-mail with the model’s name and attach the unit.
  • Send multiple e-mails (one e-mail for each model). We do not intend to spend hours adjusting the images, we simply intend to forward the images.

Thank you for your effort and your cooperation. - Jim Gallagher, MNEC
