THE GREATER LYNN INTERNATIONAL
The Greater Lynn International is a dual projection slide and digital competition with entries received from all over the world. It is sanctioned by the United States, Canada, and European organizations. These organizations give us very strict rules and time tables to follow to be eligible to give their medals each year. There are about 80-90 of these salons held worldwide each year. Greater Lynn is the largest one held and has had that distinction for over 15 years. It involves six months of work by our members, and is also very expensive to run. We are only one of four salons in the Northeast. It is our pleasure to show you the medal winners of the 2008 International Color Exhibition.

This is our 32nd year of running an International Salon. We normally receive entries from 40-50 different countries, and about 45 different states. Images are judged over a two day period by a panel of three judges who view approximately 3000-3500 images. The highest scoring images are then put into a showcase style presentation choreographed to music. This year's Color Salon show was presented on Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7:30PM, April 7 & 8, 2008 at Greater Lynn for a $5 donation, and also on Saturday, April 12, 2008, 3:15PM at the Yankee Photographic Photofest at Danvers High School, Danvers, Massachusetts, $6 donation. All shows are open to the public. We publish a catalog with all the accepted slides listed, pictures of the medal winning slides, and all the names of the patrons will be listed.

You can go to the online entry form for the 2008 Exhibition in PDF format for you to download and mail in. The conditions for entry and entry fee information are on that page.If you have any questions, please contact Susan Mosser at s.jmosser {at} comcast {dot) net All entries must be received by the closing date in mid February..

Members can help out on the scheduled work nights. We have our first work night in October to assemble and mail the entry forms. Then the work nights start in earnest in mid-February. The work is easy, and the members enjoy the camaraderie while setting up the entries. The pictures that are on this page are from various work nights in 2002. It is only a matter of time when these images will be part of our color salon slide processing history. The work night schedule will be posted on the February Current Program Page and also on the Master Schedule Page.

Members and patrons can help in any of the following monetary ways:

#1 - Medal Sponsorship - There are approximately 25 medals that need sponsors. For a donation of approximately $25-$35, depending on the medal, you can get your name on a title slide in the show and in the catalog. The medal sponsorship generally goes very fast. The medal signup sheet is passed around early in January.

#2 - $12.00 Donation - Become a "Patron" and your name will be listed in the catalog.

#3 - $25.00 Donation - Become a "Benefactor" and your name will be listed on a multiple title slide in the show and be listed in the catalog.

#4 - $50.00 or more Donation - Become a "Gold Benefactor" and you will have your own title slide in the show and be listed in the catalog.

Enter the Salon - All it takes is 4 slides and an entry form with the USD7 entry fee. Foreign entries are USD10. Foreign multiple entries (3 or more) are USD9 per maker. GLPA members get the reduced entry fee of USD5 per entry.
Foreign entry fees cover the return of slides and catalogs via air mail. Make the U.S. checks payable to the Greater Lynn International. Please send U.S. currency, or if regulations prohibit, send equivalent IRCs redeemable for USD10 (approximately 12).

Corporate sponsors may submit a camera-ready ad for the catalog. Advertising deadline for 2009 will be in late February.  Corporate sponsors will also be listed for a full year on our Links Page.
